Art creates community by uniting flamenco and painting at La Galería

With the aim of activating culture and generating a positive impact on society, Fundación Alalá and Reale Seguros joined hands yesterday to celebrate an activity in an unparalleled space on the occasion of the White Night: The Gallery.

The event brought together the plastic artists María Ortega and Luis Márquezteachers at the Alalá plastic arts workshops in Seville and Jerez. Both coordinated an activity, combining painting and collage, with the foundation’s students who, for their part, performed different flamenco musical pieces. The purpose of the workshop was precisely to investigate the world of flamenco through the visual arts.

«At Reale, we know that culture is a powerful tool for social development»explains Blanca Gómez, responsible for Sponsorship Activation and Branded Content of the company. «For this reason, we have been improving people’s lives through culture for more than two decades. In October 2023 we launched the Culture with Impact project, which aims to give visibility to the associations and NGOs with which we collaborate that use culture as a transformative tool in three important areas: health, inclusion and employment,” he adds.

Gómez also assures that, The participation of Reale Seguros in the White Night “aims to support cultural initiatives that bring art closer to society and generate a positive impact. In addition, we offer a unique space to publicize initiatives as interesting as Alalá’s.

That is also the main objective of Alalá, whose purpose is to help children achieve a better future by working through art, culture and sports to promote values such as respect, diversity and teamwork. With offices in Seville and Jerez, Alalá has forty active projects and serves nearly four hundred children.

At the same time, during the day the public was also able to enjoy the exhibition “Water. Liquid Memory”, which opened at La Galería on July 15 and will be available until December. This exhibition offers an emotional journey through water through contemplation and representation carried out by numerous artists.

The exhibition is made up of a selection of 114 works which aims to draw attention, through art, to the importance of water which, because it is so present in everyday life, seems inexhaustible but which, little by little, escapes from our hands.
