Art House Astoria It is the house where the little ones learn to develop their artistic skills in this neighborhood of Queens.
Skye Shapiro is an Art House student: “I like to act and dance in this class with my friends, it’s so much fun.”
This is an organization that for the last 13 years has been teaching theater, music, art and fashion at affordable prices and through scholarships.
His theater courses are for all ages.

His classes are aimed at all ages. And they have theater classes, which is a course where students also learn singing and choreography.
“We learn to play, sing, play instruments, and then we teach our parents in a show. It’s very good and fun,” explains the young Erick Greenlund Caraballo, who is a local student.
They also offer music classes. Where each student specializes in the instrument they like to play, from the piano to the guitar.
Students have personalized instruction.

These classes are taught in small groups and also personalized, with professional teachers in music teaching.
As Micah Burgess, founder of Art House Astoria, describes it: “We try to create an affordable experience for families, but we hire the best teachers we can.”
And fashion is not far behind. Here they learn to sew and design items such as: cases, bags, garments without a pattern such as skirts or a t-shirt. They will learn to sew by hand and by machine.
“Think critically about how they can use the artistic ideas they have and put them into reality with matter,” said Amy Olivares, another student.
Music classes are group or personalized.

These courses last three months. Half-week lessons cost $140; and one hour a week; $280. Payments can be made in installments. And for families who cannot pay these amounts, the organization also offers scholarships.
Art House Astoria is open, daily, Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays. Classes run from 4:00 to 6:45 pm on weekdays and on Saturdays from 10:30 to 4:45.
