Four great Bolivian artists have been exhibiting their works since yesterday in the Gíldaro Antezana hall.
Ángelo Benito Guzmán, Eddy Vargas Orellana and Gimber Rojas Lafuente from Cochabamba, as well as Esmeralda Méndez from Orurena, are the virtuosos who are part of the Bolivian artist collective Arte Gris and exhibit fifty samples of drawing, watercolor, oil painting, sculpture and printmaking .
Guzmán is a graphic artist from Cochabamba with 15 years of experience, during which he developed his skills and techniques, achieving a master’s degree in printmaking.
The good work he displays has allowed him to position himself in many art salons in Bolivia and exhibit his skills in the international context.
Vargas is an accomplished self-taught artist and has dabbled in art since he was 14 years old. In 2005 he received his first prize in the “Imágenes de Totora” painting competition, in the category of regional artist.
For his part, Rojas is an artist from Cochabamba, originally from Aiquile, who completed his studies in artistic training at the “Raúl G. Prada” Artistic Training Institute of Plastic Arts, subsequently specializing in watercolor and drawing techniques.
Méndez dominates drawing and sculpture. The artist graduated from the Oruro Institute of Fine Arts in 2011 and has 14 years of experience in these subjects.
“I believe that the artistic manifestation is the greatest testimony of the beautiful and the grotesque embodied in a work, beautiful and harsh reality,” said the Orure sculptor.
The artist quartet’s exhibition will run until the 27th of this month.
“There are 50 works that will be exhibited, including drawing, watercolor, oil painting, sculpture and printmaking,” said Benito Guzmán.
