The guest of the Music Bank on November 30 was a musician Arstarulsmirus, who gave their new, self – ironic song to the audience “I like”, which is also attended by Gustavo.
The song “I like it” was created with a playful, self-ironic and symbolic orientation, reflecting the dialogue that develops between people with different value systems and communication cultures. The composition raises the issue of the tendencies of modern media space consumption, when adjacent people find themselves living in very separate information spaces, which often have radically different views. The story of the song is about how they are doing with finding common ground. But from a different perspective, it is also a message of ongoing internal dialogue in each of us. ” – Arstarulsmirus shares the motivation for making the song.
Rihards Bērziņš has performed in the composition of the part vocal part, Mārcis Auziņš has played the guitar and Edvīns Ozols has played the bass guitar. The soundtrack is directed by Sergei Laletin, a long-time friend and colleague of Arstarulsmirus. He has made all the musician’s recordings in tandem during the last decade, starting with Gustav’s album “Third Breath”.
“Already at the beginning of the recording process, we laughed with my colleagues about the fact that such a move – to invite one’s alter ego to the song as a guest artist – could be quite a sign of narcissism. However, it is a pleasure that the creative process of creating this song was very fun and uplifting for everyone involved. And I find it extremely interesting how easily the listeners will be able to determine where Arstarulsmirus is playing in the song and where – Gustavo? ” – The author of the song adds laughing.
The song’s vocals included an excerpt from the vocal part of Gustavo’s 2010 composition “Where is my tip”, which serves as a reference, as it similarly played on the subject of different opinions and assumptions.
“It is also symbolic that at the end of this year, it will be exactly 10 years since the last piece was released as part of Gustavo’s music project. “I like it” is a first-time composition that combined the musical stylistics and content message of Arstarulsmirus and Gustavo’s projects. ” – says the musician.
Arstarulsmirus has already started working on the third album of Wish songs planned for next year. The start of creativity was combined with a crowd funding campaign that will end in mid-December. In it, the author invites listeners to get involved in the creative process of the project, supporting their materials to facilitate the timely recording of the next studio album.
