On Friday, September 17, the new mini-album of producer and performer Arstarulsmirus “will hit the streaming and download platforms” [m O n O hr O mi”, kas ir gada sākumā izdotā “Vēlējuma dziesmu” albuma papildinājums.
Minialbums ”pie zemes [m O n O hr O mi]”Is a five-song addition to this year’s album” Pie zemes “, which reached the audience already in the spring. This was the second of the planned cycle of four “Wish Songs” albums. Each record of this cycle will metaphorically reflect one of the four elements – water, earth, fire, air.
“For all five mini-album songs included in the record released at the beginning of the year, the arrangements were changed so that each accompaniment was performed by only one instrumentalist. The accompaniments of the songs, metaphorically speaking, are performed in monochrome sound, using only one musical instrument in each of them. With this approach, we wanted to make the mood of each piece unique and highlight the dynamics and drama of the messages, ”says Arstarulsimrus.
The guest artists of the new set are instrumentalists Ieva Šablovska (harp), Artūrs Sebris (saxophone), Mārcis Auziņš (acoustic guitar), Elvis Lintiņš (piano), Stanislavs Judins (double bass).
“I am very grateful to the guest musicians for the responsiveness and enthusiasm with which they were involved in creating the new musical material. It is really inspiring to experience such unexpected stylistic changes that have taken place in our cooperation, making the sound of Wish Songs at the same time minimalist and more colorful, ”comments the author of the project.
Wish songs are a content-oriented direction created by the author, the message of which is the pursuit of inner balance, deeper understanding of oneself and the people around us, mutual respect. Within the framework of the mentioned content direction, two studio albums have already been released – “Sight Points” (2020) and “At the Ground” (2021).
Continuing the current tradition of project albums, in terms of vocal parts, the author’s goal was to further “fuse” the parts of songs performed in Arstarulsmirus rap or recitative manner with polyphonic and solo songs performed by a quintet of vocalists – Laima Dimanta, Madara Orola, Rihards Bērziņš, Juris .
With the release of the mini-album, Arstarulmsirus is starting work on the third album of “Wish Songs” planned for next year. The beginning of creativity is combined with a crowd funding campaign in which the authors call for support for project materials to ensure and promote the timely recording of the planned studio album. The campaign will be implemented from September 17 to December 7 on the platform projektubanka.lv, where more detailed information about the project is available.
“Each contribution we receive is very important to us, as it will be a vivid and visible proof that the music and poetry of this project help people in their daily processes,” emphasizes the musician.-
In the autumn of this year, it is planned to release three more unreleased singles by Arstarulsmirus, who will see the light of day every three weeks.
