The emergency services have received a report about the burning of a high-voltage line support southeast of Berlin, where the “Tesla” factory is located, and firefighters have carried out extinguishing work.

Due to this incident, the supply of electricity to the Tesla factory, as well as to neighboring villages, has been interrupted, and the police have started an investigation into possible arson.

Shortly after this incident, the left-wing extremist group “Volcano Group” claimed responsibility for this arson, stating that it carried out sabotage against “Tesla”.

In a letter to the local media, the members of the group took responsibility for the arson and stated that they did it in connection with Tesla’s plans to expand the factory on the outskirts of Berlin.

Activists have also announced plans to build a camp in the nearby forest, where they will protest for a week. The police are not commenting on the incident, but have started an investigation.

The fire left not only the entire factory without electricity, but also partially interrupted the electricity supply to more than 2,000 households in the suburbs of Berlin.

This is the only “Tesla” factory in Europe, which started work almost two years ago. After the expansion of the factory, it was planned that it will be able to produce up to half a million electric cars per year.

“Tesla” says that production at the German factory is unlikely to be quickly restored.
