Andrey Arshavin hailed a former Arsenal star as the best teammate he has ever played with – as he named two former Chelsea players as his toughest opponents.
Arshavin made 145 appearances for the Gunners after joining Arsene Wenger’s side in 2009, scoring 31 goals and providing 46 assists.
The winger played with Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri, Aaron Ramsey and current Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta before returning to his home club Zenit St Petersburg in 2013.
But for Arshavin, a former teammate remains the best for his ability to pick a perfect pass – and that is Cesc Fabregas.
“Best teammate? Let’s say Fàbregas, ”Arshavin said in an interview with UEFA. “He can deliver the ball from one point to another at the right time and with the right timing. “
