London –
Arsenal still continue to strengthen his squad ahead Premier League 2023/2024. Kali The Gunners are trying to move the goalkeeper Brentford David Raya.
The goalkeeper sector was actually not that problematic at Arsenal last season, because Aaron Ramsdale was still performing well. Meanwhile, Matt Turner really only functions as a coating in several matches.
However, manager Mikel Arteta seems worried about Ramsdale’s statistics, which have conceded 46 goals in 41 matches in all competitions and only recorded 15 clean sheets.
Turner can’t be a good competitor for Ramsdale so it looks like Arsenal will have to look for a tough goalkeeper again. The choice fell to Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Raya had become the target of Tottenham Hotspur before the North London club withdrew because the price of 40 million pounds was relatively high. Then, Bayern Munich followed to try to bid but in the end it just went away.
Until then Arsenal tried to approach Brentford to negotiate a move for Raya. However, quoted by The Athletic, Arsenal apparently have yet to make an official offer to Brentford for Raya.
Arsenal are apparently still waiting for the results of negotiations with Nottingham Forest for Alex Turner’s move, before moving on to Raya. Raya’s name came about because Arsenal goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana had worked with him at Brentford.
David Daya last season appeared in 38 Premier League matches and conceded 46 goals, fifth best among all teams. Raya has the potential to become Arsenal’s fourth recruit after Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice.
