Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun has chosen to represent the United States, US Soccer announced on Tuesday after FIFA approved his decision to transfer England from the national team.
The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims, previously played for England under-21s.

Balogun has scored 19 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games for Reims this season.

“My decision to represent the United States came about with my family,” Balogun said.
“It came naturally in the end, but it’s definitely just something I wanted to do and it feels like home.”
