Arsenal beat Everton (0-1) this Sunday on matchday five of the Premier, thanks to a great goal from Leandro Trossard in the 69th minute, keeping them in the pursuit of leaders Manchester City, while Bournemouth and Chelsea signed the first goalless draw of the English season.
Mikel Arteta’s team had patience and confidence in their options to add the 13 points that keep them in the ‘Top 4’, two points behind City. The Gunner team took the lead in the early stages through Gabriel Martinelli, but the goal was disallowed due to a millimeter offside in the play.
Arsenal saw the minutes tick by without finding any room for Everton, but Arteta’s play, the good combination between the lines, bore fruit in the final stretch when Trossard, who had come on as a replacement for Martinelli, completed a beautiful play with a shot first with his left foot to the long stick. Those from Goodison Park remain in the relegation zone with one point.
Meanwhile, Spanish coach Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth is still without victory although it has three draws, the last this Sunday at home against a Chelsea that does not seem to be working either, despite the multimillion-dollar investment to form Mauricio Pochettino’s team. Nicolas Jackson, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer had good chances to give the Blues the win.
