Arsenal opened the scoring first in the ninth minute through Bukayo Saka. Starting with Ben White’s cross from defence, Saka escaped the offside trap and headed into the penalty box.

After tripping Andrew Robertson, Saka easily headed into the top left corner of Kevin Kelleher’s goal, making it 1-0 to the hosts.

Liverpool equalized in the 17th minute through Virgil van Dijk. From Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner, Luis Diaz headed the ball and Van Dijk headed in front of the goal.

The game was fairly even with a tight duel in midfield.

Arsenal scored their second goal in the 42nd minute through a dead ball situation. From Declan Rice’s free kick, the ball went to the far post and Mikel Merino, who escaped control, managed to put the ball into the net of Caoimhin Kelleher.

The goal was reviewed by VAR for offside before being approved by referee Anthony Taylor.

The score remained 2-1 at half-time.

Going into the second half, Liverpool tried to catch up but it was still difficult to penetrate Arsenal’s tight defence.

To sharpen the attacking line, manager Arne Slot introduced Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Kostas Tsimikas in the center half.

Liverpool was finally able to equalize the score in the 81st minute through Mohamed Salah. A quick counterattack was started by Trent who made a good pass to Darwin Nunez who was running down the right side.

Nunez was able to get into the penalty box and saw Salah’s move to his left. The ball was passed and Salah was able to deceive from close range.

Arsenal scored a goal in the 89th minute with Kai Havertz taking advantage of the chaos in front of Kelleher’s goal. The goal was disallowed due to Havertz’s foul on Trent.

The score closed 2-2 in North London.
