Arsenal had equalized the score 1-1 in injury time through Gabriel Martinelli’s header to continue Gabriel’s header. The goal was then disallowed because Martinelli was caught offside first.

The referee looked at the VAR screen for a long time before canceling the goal. Arsenal still trailed 0-1 at the end of this round.

Left behind 0-2, Arsenal increasingly frustrated and could not even create a threat to the goal of Robert Sanchez.
Arsenal got a free kick in front of the Brighton penalty box in the 88th minute which was executed by Odegaard, but Sanchez could save it while flying.
Minutes later Sanchez’s goal also fell through Odegaard’s shot from outside the penalty box, which briefly touched Danny Welbeck before bouncing into the corner.

Arsenal continued to press in the remaining time to make a goal. Sanchez again had to struggle to keep his net after warding off Eddie Nketiah’s header in injury time.
After that there was also Gabriel’s header which continued Saka’s crossing but Cucurella swept it in front of goal. Brighton finally won 2-1 at the end of the match.
