A terrible scare that fortunately did not result in human damage occurred last Sunday when one of the engines of the plane in charge of transporting the players of the Arsenal after meeting UEFA Champions League against him Wolfsburg in Germany.
The fire would have originated after a bird hit one of the Boeing 737 engines on the runway of the Braunschweig Wolfsburg airport in Germany, pointed out the British media The Sun.
Once the flames took over part of the aircraft, the pilot took the appropriate steps and the firefighters quickly approached to spread the fire, just before the players were evacuated in an emergency in the middle of the track.
After what happened, the soccer players were transferred to a hotel near the airport and this Monday they were transferred to London on a replacement plane.
Arsenal managed to salvage a draw against Wolfsburg. After going down 2-1 at halftime, Stina Blackstenius was in charge of signing the equalizer in the 69th minute.
Thus, Arsenal will play the second leg of the Champions League semifinals next Monday, May 1, at the Emirates Stadium.
It should be remembered that Arsenal last won the competition in 2007, when it was known as the Uefa Women’s Cup.
