But it has been reported that the Gunners have no interest in meeting the Blues’ £70m asking price.

The 23-year-old faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, leading Real Madrid to weigh a possible move.

But according to The Telegraph, Arsenal are also in the running for the former Bayer Leverkusen star.

Chelsea would be willing to part ways with Havertz, for whom they paid £75m in 2020.

And Havertz himself is open to a new adventure away from west London, having indicated no desire to extend his contract beyond 2025.

In what is a boost for Arsenal, it is believed that Chelsea will not force Havertz to join a club offering the highest fee and will take his preference into account.

Havertz, who scored Chelsea’s winning goal against Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final, was guilty of inconsistent performances this season.

In all, he scored just nine goals in all competitions in his 47 outings, contributing just a solitary assist.

He has yet to reach double digits in any of his three Premier League campaigns.

Havertz could be one of the many high-profile players Chelsea will show the exit door to this summer.
