Arsenal left behind Tottenham in the standings, Arteta: Difficult to accept

London

It is been a long time Arsenal did not finish at the top Tottenham Hotspur in the English League. Manager of the Gunners Mikel Arteta admit it is unacceptable.

From 1996 to 2016, Arsenal regularly commemorated St Totteringham’s Day, a ‘holiday’ created by Arsenal fans when their team was mathematically confirmed to finish at the top. Tottenham in the English League.

This is due to Arsenal’s strength which is able to outperform Tottenham as the best team in North London. However, since the 2016/17 season, that celebration has ceased to exist.

The reason is, Arsenal always finish at the bottom Tottenham. This has been going on for four seasons. Even looking at the points this season, it could be that this period will continue.

So far, Tottenham have collected 45 points from 27 matches, and sit seventh in the standings. Meanwhile, Arsenal have only collected 38 points from 27 matches and are scattered in tenth place.

Not only that, Arsenal in fact, currently no better than other city rivals such as West Ham United (48 points) and Chelsea (51 points). It’s been a long time since we won the Premier League, and in London it’s not even the ruler.

“Not (acceptable),” said Arteta when asked by reporters about Arsenal’s condition, which is not even the best team in London, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“We want to be the best. Not only in London, we want to be the best in the Premier League.”

“That’s the standard we have to achieve, given the expectations we have and what has happened to this club over the years.”
