Arsenal ‘interested in transfer of Jaidon Anthony from Bournemouth but face competition from Leicester and Bundesliga duo’

ARSENAL are reportedly interested in Bournemouth’s Jaidon Anthony as they look to further bolster their squad.

The Gunners are already on the verge of signing Brighton winger Leandro Trossard in a £27m deal.

The 28-year-old Belgian World Cup ace is expected to be confirmed as their player within 24 hours of passing a medical and agreeing personal terms with the Premier League leaders.

Now him daily mail claims they are also looking to bring Anthony back to the Emirates before the transfer window closes.

The 23-year-old spent a decade at the north London club’s academy before heading to Bournemouth in 2016.

He excelled during last season’s promotion campaign campaign but has struggled for top-flight match action during his tenure.

After eight goals and seven assists in the Championship, he has been limited to just four league starts so far this season.

Anthony’s contract also expires in June, meaning the Cherries might be tempted to cash in on him now rather than risk losing him for nothing.

And the Gunners are apparently ready to pounce on this report claiming that “his age and previous academy experience” with Arsenal makes them believe he would be “a shrewd addition with long-term growth potential”.

But they face competition from a host of clubs both domestic and foreign.

Leicester City are also monitoring Anthony’s situation as they weigh a move to help bolster his chances of survival.

Bundesliga clubs Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested.

Gladbach are looking for a potential replacement for Chelsea transfer target Marcus Thuram.

Meanwhile, Leverkusen want someone to fill the void that will be left when loanee Callum Hudson-Odoi returns to Stamford Bridge.

Bournemouth will be loath to lose the star this month after slipping to 17th, one point above the relegation zone, following a six-match losing streak.
