Layth Yousif del Gooner reported that the Arsenal will fight Leeds United for the signing of the Shakhtar winger, Manor Solomon.
The Ukrainian club has already turned down a € 20m offer from Bergamo’s Atalanta, and Leeds United are pushing harder for the deal at the moment.
Solomon is off to a good start to the 2020-21 campaign, with five goals and one assist in nine starts. He was most impressive in UEFA Champions League games against Real Madrid, scoring both at home and away against the European giants.
The 21-year-old not only made the roster in those games, but he also proved to be an effective ball carrier, completing all six dribbles he attempted. An unbalancing player capable of making a difference in individual duels.
With Israel, Solomon has one goal and four assists in 14 appearances (11 starts). That goal came in his most recent appearance, as he scored the winning goal against Scotland in November.
The winger looks like a talented prospect, but he doesn’t look like he’s going to be cheap.
Does Arsenal need another extreme?
If Arsenal have to offer more than 20 million euros just to start negotiations, they’d better put that money into their midfield.
Right now, Mikel Artea has Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Martinelli out of the band, as well as current starters Bukayo Saka and Willian. This means that they do not need a winger in the short term but, if they manage to sell to players who do not fit into the Spanish coach’s plans, they could bet on the signing of the Israeli winger.
Leeds United and Atalanta will be tough opponents because they can offer a good amount of money and an important project to compete in the best leagues in the world.
