Arsenal FC won 2-0 this Saturday during their visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers on matchday 34, thanks to a great goal from Leandro Trossard and another from Martin Odegaard, and has placed themselves in the provisional leadership of the Premier League, with for Manchester City and Liverpool FC to play their matches.
At the Molineux Stadium, just before half-time, Gabriel Jesus tamed a Kai Havertz cross into the heart of the area; the player gunnerdespite falling to the ground while escaping from a defender, managed to get up and assist Trossard, who from the edge of the box hit a right-footed shot that ended up entering the corner of the rival goal.
This victory, sealed in second-half stoppage time with a beautiful left-footed shot by Odegaard, placed Mikel Arteta’s men at the top of the Premier League with 74 points, although with one more game than Manchester City (73 pts.) and Liverpool (71 points). Meanwhile, Wolverhampton remains in the middle of the standings, with 43 points.
A little further down the table is Brentford FC, now with 35 points after beating Luton Town 1-5 this Saturday (25 pts.). A double from Yoane Wissa in the first half led to the victory of the beesrounded off after the break with goals from Ethan Pinnock, Keane Lewis-Potter and Kevin Schade.
