Arsenal want Arsene Wenger to return to the Emirates before a planned tribute to the legendary Frenchman.
Wenger came to North London in 1996 and oversaw an incredible period of success for the Gunners.
In addition to winning the Premier League in 1998 and 2002, Arsenal spent an entire season undefeated in 2003/04 under Wenger’s leadership.

Arsene Wenger has not managed a club since leaving Arsenal in May 2018
The former Monaco manager also led the club to the final of the Champions League in 2006, but was beaten by Barcelona in the final stage of the top European competition.
Fan protests and riots at the club became a more permanent fixture towards the end of Wenger’s reign at Arsenal, with the 71-year-old resigning after taking the club to sixth place in 2018.
The legendary coach is understood to have been hurt by the way the club treated him towards the end of his 22-year reign, with sources suggesting that he would not even watch a match again.
However, according to the Mail on Sunday, CEO Vinai Venkatesham visited Wenger to assure him that he is always welcome amid a tribute to be unveiled next year.

Wenger won seven FA Cups with Arsenal
But insiders have revealed that there is still bitterness between the Frenchman and his former club.
An Arsenal employee said: “He will never come back. That’s how disappointed he is with the board. “
While another of the former colleagues of the manager said: “Contrary to what people may think, it did not end well. And it didn’t feel like it ended well.
“He felt like he deserved better. And he deserved better. When Peter Hill-Wood died, he should have been named president. They had to hold it. You don’t lose someone who has your ability, experience, intelligence and honesty. “
