Arsenal beat Brighton away
London’s Arsenal beat Brighton & Hove Albion in the away match of the 18th round of the English Premier League. The meeting took place at the stadium “Falmer – The Amex” and ended with a score of 4:2.
Arsenal players Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard scored in the first half. Just after the break, striker Eddie Nketia led the scoreline in a big way. In the 65th minute, Kaoru Mitoma reduced Brighton’s backlog, but in the 71st minute, Gabriel Martinelli strengthened the visitors’ lead again. In the 77th minute, substitute Evan Ferguson saved the home side from defeat. At the end of the meeting, Brighton scored another goal, but after watching video replays, it was ruled offside.
Arsenal secured a fifth straight win and are confidently leading the table in the English Premier League with 43 points from 16 games. The closest pursuer is Manchester City, who have 36 points. Brighton are in eighth place with 24 points.
In the next round, Arsenal play Newcastle United at home, while Brighton play Everton away. Both matches will take place on Tuesday 3 January.
