Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have been contacted by representatives of free agent Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.
The English transfer window may be closed, but that doesn’t mean clubs can’t sign new players, with a host of talent currently out of work.
Rabiot tops the list of top players looking for a new club.
The 29-year-old has 48 caps for France to date and has played five times in The Blues qualify for the semi-finals of Euro 2024 this summer.
Having failed to agree a new contract with Juventus, Rabiot – who also played for Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse – is now a free agent.
Arsenal and Tottenham approached by Rabiot’s agent
Given his status, it’s no surprise to see Rabiot linked with so many big clubs, with Newcastle United, Manchester United, AC Milan and Bayern Munich all linked with him throughout the summer.
Meanwhile, Istanbul giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have reportedly made an approach for Rabiot, but the midfielder appears determined to stay in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.
According to TBR, Rabiot’s agent has contacted north London giants Arsenal and Tottenham over a possible transfer.
It is understood that Rabiot’s current wage demands of £220,000-a-week are a barrier for most interested clubs.
However, Arsenal in particular could be in the market for a midfielder with new signing Mikel Merino still a few weeks away from fitness and Italy international Jorginho linked with Galatasaray.
