Arsenal players became the next quarter-finalists of the Champions League. In Tuesday’s round of 16 rematch, they won over FC Porto after a shootout from 11 m. The first duel in Porto ended with a 1:0 triumph for the home team, Arsenal won 1:0 in regular time of the rematch in London.

Leandro Trossard used Martin Ödegaard’s pass in the 41st minute and opened the scoring from close range. In the 67th minute, Arsenal rejoiced for the second time, but prematurely, as VAR revealed that Ödegaard’s pinpoint strike had been preceded by a foul by Havertz.
The winner was not decided in regular time and extra time did not bring a resolution. The Arsenal players were 100% in the shootout, when Ödegaard, Havertz, Saka and Rice successively prevailed. Among the Porto players, two hesitated – in the second series, Wendell, who hit the post, and in the fourth, Galeno, whose attempt was thwarted by the Ray goalkeeper.
