Rodolfo Arruabarrena, coach of our UAE national team, denied the certainty that Lionel Messi will appear in the friendly wait between the Whites and the Argentine national team.
The two sides will meet on November 16 at the Mohammed bin Zayed stadium in the capital Abu Dhabi.
The clash will take place as part of the UAE national team’s preparations for the “Gulf 25” tournament in Basra, while Tango prepares for the 2022 World Cup.
And the Emirati newspaper, Al Bayan, asked Arwaparina about the upcoming confrontation between the defenders of Al-Abyad and Messi.
The 47-year-old confirmed: “We are not aware of whether or not this legendary player is participating in the match. These matters fall under the authority of the Argentine national team’s coaching staff.”
Arrobarina added: “But even if Messi plays, the UAE players must deliver a solid performance commensurate with the importance and strength of the match.”
Arrobarina stressed that she was not afraid of the result of the friendly match, explaining: “Strong friction and benefit from the experience are the basis for me”.
The Argentine coach continued: “We do not look at the results of the friendlies as much as we are interested in the mastery of the game plan of the players and in the good contact. The players should not think about the result of the friendly and concentrate on doing well.”
Arruabarina described the participation of his players against Tango as a “historic event”, adding: “They must have fun and entertain their fans with the best possible performance”.
