Arriving in Jakarta, this is the agenda of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo while in Indonesia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Jakarta on Thursday (29/10/2020) in the morning. Pompeo’s arrival to Indonesia in connection with his working visit to a number of countries in Asia.

Through his verified official Twitter account, Pompeo reported that he had arrived in Jakarta.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi previously stated that Pompeo will carry out two agendas while in Indonesia.

“Apart from having a bilateral meeting with me, Foreign Minister Pompeo will also attend the Anshor Youth Movement Forum regarding dialogue on religion and civilization,” Retno said via teleconference, Thursday (22/10/2020).

Retno added that America is an important partner for Indonesia. Therefore, Indonesia wants to continue to build a strong, mutually beneficial and respectful partnership with the US.

“The strong commitment to increasing this partnership is reflected in the intensive mutual visits of officials from the two countries, even during the pandemic,” he said.

For the record, before going to Indonesia, Pompeo first went to India to hold a third annual + 2 2 ministerial dialogue US Indoa. The dialogue took place with US Defense Minister Mark T Esper.

After India, Pompeo visited Colombo, Sri Lanka and Male, Maldives to discuss US cooperation with the two countries.
