The anomalous heat that has enveloped the South for weeks seems to have faded with the passage of this latest disturbance and, despite the models predicting a partial rise in temperatures, for next week temperatures are expected to maintain an autumnal flavor across much of the countryalthough in many regions with values slightly above the norm. Once the anomalous heat has disappeared, when will the first taste of real, winter-like cold arrive? The forecast models for a few days have been suggesting that the winter-style cold could arrive soon, therefore well in advance of what is indicated on the calendar: the latest projections, however, introduce some new features. So let’s see what’s new.
Until a few days ago the arrival of the cold was in fact expected around the 27th-28th of the month, but now something has changed in the projections. So has the possibility of an early taste of winter weather gone? Not really: simply the arrival of the cold was postponed a few days later. So when is the appointment with the glimpses of winter weather? Well, the latest updated maps show the irruption of cold polar currents on our country in the very first days of November: in particular, the cold air should arrive between Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November, and bring some unusual cold for the period, especially on the Adriatic side.

Let’s understand: we are not talking about mid-winter frost, for that we will have to wait longer. In short, temperatures will drop below normal, but without exaggerating: that is, typical values await us at the end of November or beginning of December, therefore typical of late autumn or early winter. However, it will be the first real cold and, in the event of a few nights of starry frost, it cannot be ruled out that locally the minimum temperatures will drop to 0 degrees or slightly below. In short, the arrival of the cold and its intensity are confirmed, only the date changes (and slightly).
