Arriva trains will not run in Friesland and Groningen on Tuesday due to a strike. The express bus between Groningen and Leer does run, Arriva said on Tuesday morning.
Arriva trains do run in Limburg, on the Vechtdal lines and in Achterhoek Rivierenland. This strike day also has no consequences for the Arriva bus service.
Arriva’s strike day falls outside the national strike days of regional carriers. Employees will stop working on Tuesday because employers have still not made a good offer for the so-called multimodal collective labor agreement, Edwin Kuiper of the FNV trade union said earlier.
This is a smaller collective agreement for approximately 1300 employees of regional transport companies that offer both train and bus services.
For that smaller collective labor agreement, personnel of carrier Arriva are already taking action on the national strike days in Twente, Limburg and around Dordrecht. But in the two northern provinces there are also work interruptions outside the national strikes.
The employees of companies such as Arriva, Qbuzz and Keolis want more wages, but also measures to reduce the workload. However, the collective labor agreement negotiations are deadlocked. The employers have already indicated several times that they cannot offer what the unions demand.
