Arrests Made: Man Breaks into Real Estate Office and Steals 3 Million Yen in Tokyo

Two people were arrested: Makoto Iwabe (22), whose residence and occupation are unknown, and Yuta Kamihira (21), an unemployed man from Higashimurayama City, Tokyo.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, on the evening of August 21 this year, a man broke into the office of a real estate company on the third floor of a building in Ikebukuro, Toshima Ward, sprayed a male employee with something that looked like pepper spray, and stole 3 million yen in cash. Furthermore, he is suspected of robbery and bodily injury for injuring an employee.

The man reportedly suffered minor injuries, including a bruise on his right elbow.

While the man was working alone, two people wearing black hats suddenly barged in without saying a word, took cash from a bag in the office and fled.

In response to the investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspects made statements such as “I will think carefully before speaking” and “I understand to some extent.”

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating in detail the relationship between the two, believing that there may be others in charge.
