Executive action for alleged formation and membership in a criminal organization
Searches by the Soko Rex in the Ore Mountains
As part of an investigation by the Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of formation or membership in a criminal organization pursuant to §§ 129 Para. 1 StGB, the Soko Rex of the Saxony State Criminal Police Office executed several arrest warrants and search warrants on May 31, 2023 in the Ore Mountains. The officers searched several objects in five suspects. Three suspects were arrested.
The 34 suspects aged between 17 and 23 are accused of having formed a criminal organization as the “Strong Youth” group since February 2022 at the latest. “Strong Youth” is part of the ultra group of a local football club and is made up of ultras and hooligans together.
According to the previous investigations, the aim of the group was to commit violent crimes, in particular physical injuries and robbery offenses against supporters of other football clubs, as well as acts of resistance against police officers as state representatives. Since 2022, the group has committed several crimes of serious breach of the peace, dangerous bodily harm and robbery.
Four of the five suspects affected by the executive measures have also committed right-wing extremist crimes in the past, such as incitement to hatred and the use of symbols belonging to unconstitutional organizations.
The investigations by the Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Saxony State Criminal Police Office are ongoing.
