Arrests Made for Illegal Ticket Sales at Benfica vs Sporting Football Match

The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) reported, this Sunday, that it arrested eight people for illegally selling tickets for the meeting between Benfica and Sporting, from the 11th round of the Portuguese I League of football.

In a statement, ASAE reveals that “in recent days it carried out an inspection operation aimed at the sale of false or irregular tickets, with online offers, essentially social networks”, which resulted in the arrest of eight people.

«As a result of the action, eight individuals were arrested, following the offer of tickets on social media, above their face value, and they were constituted as defendants, subject to the identity and residence term measure (TIR), and respectively notified to appearance before the Judicial Authority”, it also reads.

In addition to the arrests, according to ASAE, “12 tickets were seized, two redpasses [bilhetes de temporada do Benfica]with unit face values ​​of €25.00, €45.00 and €70.00, which were being sold at prices well above their face value», as well as five membership cards.
