French authorities have arrested six suspects who allegedly stole a painting by street artist Banksy from Club Bataclan in Paris, according to judicial circles. The picture shows a veiled woman looking sadly at the floor. It was stolen almost a year and a half ago and was recently taken to a farm in Italy. Two of the detainees were investigated on suspicion of theft, the other four on allegedly being helped, said Saturday.

According to Italian media reports, the investigators suspect that the thieves have flicked open the hinges of the fire door on which the picture is painted with angle markers. Then they would have taken the door away in a van. The Bataclan is one of the most famous rock clubs in Paris. In November 2015, radical Islamists stormed the hall during a concert. The attack was part of a series of attacks that killed 130 people in one night.
