(PLO) – The daycare center was not licensed. The owner of the daycare center took on many tasks and was unable to manage it, so while taking care of the children, he accidentally caused the death of a 2-year-old boy.
On September 18, the Police Investigation Agency of Chau Thanh district, An Giang province announced that it had executed an arrest warrant for the suspect Phan Ngoc Minh Thu (32 years old, residing in Vinh Thoi hamlet, Vinh Hanh commune, Chau district). Thanh) on the charge of unintentionally causing death due to violating professional rules.
Initial investigation results showed that, despite not having a license, Thu took care of many children at the “Minh Ngoc Children’s Group” owned by Thu. Thu’s facility does not ensure child care conditions and standards; Thu alone took on many tasks of caring for, nurturing, and educating the children, so she could not manage them. While babysitting, she accidentally caused the death of a 2-year-old nephew.
Previously, on May 25, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham (Vinh Hoa A hamlet, Can Dang commune, Chau Thanh district) sent her biological son, baby B. (2 years old) to Thu’s children’s group. At about 2:00 p.m. the same day, Thu saw child B crying, showing signs of being tired and curled up, so she called Ms. Tham to come pick him up.
Ms. Tham called her biological father, Mr. Nguyen Tri Dang, to pick up her grandchild. Upon arriving, Mr. Dang saw that the child appeared to faint, so he and Ms. Tham took the child to the emergency room. However, child B. died.
At the time of the case, Thu took care of 9 children.
Autopsy results showed that the baby’s cause of death was acute hemorrhagic shock due to blunt abdominal trauma and rupture of the mesenteric artery.
Currently, the case is being further investigated by the police.
