An active-duty soldier who posted on an online community that he would terrorize the mayor of Busan was caught by the police.
The Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency’s cyber investigation department announced on the 26th that it had arrested Mr. A, an active soldier in his 20s, on charges such as intimidation.
Mr. A is suspected of posting an article on the DC Inside bulletin board, an online community, at around 2:20 pm on the 23rd, “Can I shoot the Busan market over there with a taser gun?”
When the terrorism notice was posted, the police assigned careers to the Busan City Hall, while conducting a search at the Busan City Hall.
The police identified Mr. A by tracking his Internet address (IP), and arrested him at his home in Busan that day.
In the police investigation, Mr. A is known to have stated that he “posted it as a joke”.
The police handed over the recruit to the military investigation agency because Mr. A was a full-time reservist and active duty soldier.
