The National Police in Ibiza arrested on Monday a man of Romanian origin from 25 years old as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of theft and fraud.
As reported in a press release, the events were reported by the victims between the end of January and the end of February. The modus operandi It consisted of thefts inside vehicles, to subsequently carry out fraud with bank cards stolen from them, carrying out a frenetic use of said bank cards and making charges in various businesses in the city of Ibiza of small amounts of money in order to avoid the security measures of the banking entities until the stolen cards are blocked.
The man was trying get cash in establishments, giving different arguments to their workers to mislead them into agreeing to provide him with the cash charged to the bank card.
The investigation
The investigation carried out by the Specialized and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the Ibiza National Police Station began the investigation after the victims’ complaint managed to identify the alleged perpetrator of the robberies.
The agents got relate the investigated with other thefts and scams denounced in previous days, with a total of four thefts and frauds, which are attributed to the young man.
The arrest took place on Monday at 5:00 p.m. on public roads by agents of the Operational Response Group (GOR), of Citizen Security of the National Police, they carried out the arrest of this individual.
