The National Police from Oviedo they have arrested a man for a crime of gross disobedience. The arrested man, who is at liberty with charges pending trial, made more than 8,000 injurious calls to emergency services.
During the month of April, the Intelligent Communication and Control Command Center (CIMACC) 091 of the Higher Police Headquarters of Asturias, where all calls to the National Police are centralized to 091 of the province, reported the reception of a volume important number of calls by a man, who He called only to rebuke and insult the operators of said room, without requiring any type of emergency service.
The Provincial Information Brigade initiated an investigation into the events, verifying that since 2019, a total of 3,787 calls to 091 and 4,957 calls to the emergency room on 112, being able to verify that similar calls were also made to the Local Police of Gijón. It was confirmed that “none of the calls to both emergency services requested an emergency service or any requirement, and that they were only made with the intention of insulting and obstructing the service.”
