Arrested for defendant in September murder of Hispanic mother from Bronx – Telemundo New York (47)

The NYPD announced the arrest of the suspect in the brutal strangulation of a Hispanic mother from the Bronx in Melrose in September.

Belkis López, 35, was found dead by her 14-year-old daughter inside their home. The police immediately linked her boyfriend Ángel DeJesús to the murder.

The woman had a rope or elastic band around her neck when her daughter found her dead in a bedroom inside her home on E. 158th St. near Melrose Avenue, police said.

Frantic, the minor alerted family members, who went to the scene and called 911.

Angel DeJesus, 44, was arrested Tuesday on one count of murder and negligent manslaughter, according to police.

DeJesus was living in the East 158th Street apartment at the time of the murder, according to the uniform.

In April 2017, police filed a domestic stalking incident report after Lopez told officers that her boyfriend had threatened her.

“If I can’t have you, no one will,” the subject would have expressed.
