Harianjogja.com, JOGJA–The former mayor of Jogja, Hariyadi Suyuti, was arrested by the KPK, Thursday (2/6/2022). Not only that, the mayor’s room at the Jogja City Hall was also searched before being sealed by the anti-corruption agency.
Haryadi was arrested in connection with a bribery case along with a number of other parties. Until now, KPK investigators have not explained the motive and amount of bribes allegedly received by the senior Jogja politician.
Then who is the figure of Haryadi Suyuti? According to the official website of the Yogyakarta City Government, Hariyadi Suyuti was a former Deputy Mayor of Jogja for the 2006-2011 period and rose to become the Mayor of Jogja for the 2012-2016 period and then the 2017-2022 period.
The man who was born in Jogja, February 9, 1964, is the first son of Zarkowi Soejoeti and Yayah Maskiyah. Haryadi studied at SMA Negeri 1 Jogja and managed to get a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM in 1989.
During his time as a student, Hariyadi was active in organizations, including being the Head of the Student Family of State Administration Fisipol UGM (1985-1987).
Apart from being on campus, Haryadi is also active as the Economic and Entrepreneurial Council for the Muhammadiyah DIY Regional Leaders, Head of Division III Committee for the I Century Muktamar Muhammadiyah, Head of the Yogyakarta City Narcotics Agency, and Member of the Economic and Entrepreneurial Council for Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders.
Haryadi also became active in the field of sports by becoming the General Chairperson of Perbasi DIY and General Chairperson of PSIM Jogja. In his career, Haryadi has worked as a Management Trainee at PT Bank Sampoerna International (Sampoerna Group) Jakarta, PT Finance Corpindo Nusa (Sampoerna Group) Jakarta, Director of Corporate Finance & Government Relations at PT Finance Corpindo Nusa (JSE & BES Member) (Sampoerna Group) Jakarta , Member of the Audit Committee of PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk, and Corporate Secretary of the non-Derectorate BOD of PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk- Jakarta.
