Seoul Central District Court Judge Yoo Chang-hoon, who is in charge of warrants, issued an arrest warrant at around 11:00 p.m.

It was reported that the reason for issuing the warrant was ‘concern about destroying evidence’.

Mr. Park is a person who managed the funds of former representative Song’s camp at the time of the 2021 Democratic National Convention.

Park is accused of receiving 50 million won in illegal campaign funds in collusion with Kang Rae-goo, former standing auditor of Korea Water Resources Corporation, and Lee Jeong-geun, former vice secretary general of the Democratic Party, to help former CEO Song win the election.

Prosecutors believe that Park ordered the destruction of evidence, such as replacing the computer hard disk of the ‘Peace and Living Matters Research Center’, an outlying support organization.

It is known that the prosecution presented a presentation of more than 200 pages at today’s warrant review and insisted on the need for an arrest investigation.

On the other hand, Park’s side also submitted dozens of opinions, refuted that the reason for the arrest was not established, and claimed that he had faithfully responded to the prosecution’s request for an investigation, but it was not accepted in the end.

Due to Park’s arrest, it is expected that the summoning schedule for former CEO Song will be set soon.
