Arrest warrant for “celebrities instigate civil servants” in Myanmar… Nearly 500 arresters

The protests by the rebels, which have been continuing for days against the military in Myanmar, have not subsided. There were also nearly 500 people arrested during the protests.

On the 17th (local time), the military issued an arrest warrant for six celebrities, including film directors, actors, and singers, for promoting disobedience by public officials.

Local actor Lumin, who was included in the six people, appealed on his Facebook page, saying, “It’s cool to see people’s integration.”

In Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city, the military fired rubber bullets to suppress protesters. As railroad workers refused to work and joined the civil disobedience movement, public transportation such as trains was stopped. A large-scale demonstration is also scheduled for the 18th. Reuters reported that a protest will be held in which a large number of students and workers from different ethnicities will participate. According to the Myanmar Political Offender Support Association (AAPP), 495 people have been arrested since the coup on the 1st. The protests against military rule have been on the 13th.

The day before, Chito, a high-ranking official of the National League for Democracy and Peoples League (NLD), led by state advisor Aung San Suu Kyi, exclaimed, “Let’s stand up,” “Let’s show our strength against the coup government that destroyed the country’s future.”
