Thrikkakara/Nilambur Marunadan Malayali editor Shajan Skaria was arrested by the Thrikkakara police. The arrest is for forging the BSNL document. Shajan was arrested by a team led by Thirkakkara SIPP Justice when he appeared for questioning at the Nilambur police station on Saturday as per the court order for spreading a video inciting religious hatred. Shajan was brought to Kalamasery AR camp at night and questioned. He was later released on bail from the Ernakulam Fast Sessions Court. The arrest was made on the complaint filed by Radhakrishnan, a native of Delhi. The complaint is that Tiding Digital Publications was registered with the Kerala Registrar of Companies at the Kakanad NGO Quarters by Shajan Scaria and obtained a certificate of incorporation. For this purpose, on July 6, 2018, Shajan forged the telephone bill of BSNL. Thrikakkara police had collected the documents from Kerala Registrar of Companies and BSNL. The police also recorded the statement of the complainant, Radhakrishnan, a native of Delhi. The complaint given to the chief minister was handed over to the Thrikakkara police. On Friday, the High Court directed Shahj to appear before the investigating officer for questioning at 10 am on Saturday in the case of filming and spreading a video in a manner that promotes religious rivalry. If they do not appear, the interim anticipatory bail will be cancelled. Nilambur Municipal Standing Committee Chairman Skaria appeared in a case registered by the Nilambur Police. BJP State Vice President Shobha Surendran and his team came to the rescue after knowing that BJP Thrikakkara Shajan Skaria would be brought to Thrikakkara Police Station. Shobha Surendran, who reached the station at 5 pm on Saturday, asked Inspector R Shabu when Shajan Skaria would be brought to the station. When he said that he could not say exactly, Shobha Surendran was still at the station and said that he should go after seeing Shajan.
