A judge on the Spanish island of Mallorca, in the Mediterranean, has ordered the arrest of five German vacationers suspected of gang rape. While the German media focuses on “young Germans”, the Spanish press clearly reports on criminals with a Turkish migration background.
A court in Palma de Mallorca refused to release the detainees on bail. According to the press, the alleged perpetrators came from North Rhine-Westphalia. At the same time, numerous German media are silent about the ethnic origin of the suspects, reporting only on “young Germans”. However, the Spanish media immediately clarified that all alleged rapists are of immigrant origin. For example, the newspaper Ultima Chora (Spanish for “Last Hour”) writes about the Turkish origin of the perpetrators, who are between 21 and 23 years old.
According to Spanish police, an 18-year-old tourist from Germany met a young man on the popular Ballerman party. She agreed to go with him to his hotel room, but was refused by the front desk because she was not a registered guest there. After that, the couple went to the hotel to the man’s five friends. Already in the room, the scumbags committed a gang rape, while one of them filmed on his smartphone.
