Pathanamthitta: Akhil Sajeev (32), the main accused in the case of cheating the appointment in the name of the Health Minister’s office, has been arrested at his home in Vallikode Vattathet. DYSP: S. A special team led by Nandakumar took Akhil into custody from Theni yesterday morning. A case registered a week ago and four other cases are against Akhil in a complaint filed by a native of Omallur that he was cheated of four lakhs by offering him a job in the Spices Board.
Akhil, who was absconding, was caught from a lodge near Theni bus stand following an internet call.
Akhil was brought to the Pathanamthitta police station in the morning by District Police Chief V. Ajith interrogated for hours. He will be produced in court this morning. Akhil will be taken into custody by the Cantonment Police producing a production warrant in the recruitment fraud case.
CITU CITU alleged that Akhil, who was the secretary of Pathanamthitta district office, had forged Rs 3.60 lakh. P.J. was the district secretary. A case was registered in April last year on the complaint filed by Ajayakumar. District Secretary, Khajanji R. Akhil withdrew 2.20 lakh rupees with the forged signatures of Sanalkumar and others. It was in the complaint that Akhil took Rs 1,40,000 which he had entrusted to be handed over to the state committee.

Former office secretary Akhil Sajeev accused of taking a bribe of 1.75 lakh rupees. Haridasan Kummoli, a teacher from Malappuram, had lodged a complaint with the minister.
Akhil is accused in a case of selling tobacco products registered by the Palakkad South Police last year. A case of breach of trust was also registered at the Kollam West Police Station last year.
