Arrest Made in South Carolina House Fire Homicide Case: Ryan Manigo Charged with Multiple Counts of Homicide

Ryan Manigo, 33, was arrested and jailed on Sunday, then charged Monday afternoon with two counts of homicide against the two identified victims, his 11-year-old daughter and 50-year-old sister-in-law.

A man was charged with homicide and attempted homicide on Monday after six bodies were found in a burning house the day before in the southeastern United States, authorities said.

Alerted by an emergency call about a stabbing in Green Pond, South Carolina, police arrived to discover the home engulfed in flames and a 13-year-old survivor nearby.

The teenager, whose identity has not been revealed, put the agents on the trail of a suspect before being transported to hospital by helicopter.

The latter, Ryan Manigo, 33, was arrested and jailed on Sunday, then charged Monday afternoon with two counts of homicide against the two identified victims, his 11-year-old daughter and his 50-year-old sister-in-law, and one count of attempted homicide against the surviving teenager.

“We have no motive at this time,” Guerry Hill, the sheriff of Colleton County where Green Pond is located, said at a news conference Monday about the “horrible events.”

The other four victims have not yet been identified, the sheriff said. Authorities are anticipating new charges, county attorney Duffie Stone said the suspect faces life imprisonment.
