The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for Shufrich.
According to the court decision, the preventive measure chosen for the MP does not provide for an alternative in the form of bail.
Shufrych was taken into custody right in the courtroom.
What is known about the Shufrich case
This morning it became known that the Security Service of Ukraine came to people’s deputy Shufrich with searches. Law enforcement officers found St. George ribbons, medals, orders, as well as a collection of Russian tunics and Soviet documents at the people’s deputy’s home.
According to RBC-Ukraine sources, Shufrich also had a document with an “autonomy” scheme for the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, dated 2014. The document also bears the signature of former people’s deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, suspected of treason.
Later, the SBU reported that People’s Deputy Shufrich was suspected of treason. The case states that he worked for Vladimir Sivkovich, an FSB agent and former secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. Sivkovich coordinated the Russian intelligence network in Ukraine.
