On the 15th, Daegu District Prosecutors’ Office Criminal Division 3 (Chief Prosecutor Cho Yong-woo) arrested and indicted Mr. A, in his 40s, on charges of threatening employees with a weapon and stealing money from Saemaeul Geumgo (special robbery).
Mr. A is accused of breaking into a Saemaul Geumgo in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, wearing a motorcycle helmet, at around 4:17 p.m. on the 31st of last month, threatening employees with a prepared weapon, and robbing about 20.3 million won in cash.
He ran away after committing the crime, but was caught about three hours later by the police, who began tracking him after receiving a report. There were no casualties as a result of the crime, and most of the damaged cash was recovered.
As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A, who needed money, chose a small financial institution in a rural area and committed the crime around business closing time.
