Five Ajax players included in Eredivisie Team of the Month
Five Ajax players have been included in the Eredivisie Elftal of the Month for February, as can be read on the Premier League website. They are Jurriën Timber, Edson Álvarez, Steven Berghuis, Mohammed Kudus and Dusan Tadić. The third mentioned, Berghuis, was even voted Eredivisie Player of the Month. The other names in the team of the month are Jasper Cillessen, Lutsharel Geertruida, Johan Bakayoko, Joey Veerman, Xavi Simons and Ricardo Pepi.
Ajax represents a unique milestone
Ajax stands for a nice arrow meal in the Eredivisie, as can be read on the ESPN website. The team from Amsterdam is now at 1,499 won matches in the Dutch competition, which means that Ajax can book the 1,500th victory against NEC in the Eredivisie. This would make them the first club in the Netherlands to achieve 1,500 victories in the Eredivisie. This chance seems very big, because Ajax will meet with NEC the team that almost never loses at home. The team from Amsterdam are unbeaten for 41 home games against the team from Nijmegen. There were 35 wins and six matches ended in a draw.
Taylor suspended for cup match against De Graafschap
Ajax has to do without Kenneth Taylor in the quarterfinals of the TOTO KNVB Cup against De Graafschap on Thursday. The midfielder is suspended. Ajax will meet De Graafschap on Thursday evening in a sold-out De Vijverberg stadium, the club from Doetinchem announced via Twitter. It means that 12,600 people will be spectators during the quarterfinals of the TOTO KNVB Cup. Ajax and De Graafschap kick off the game on Thursday evening at 9 p.m.
Youth League match Ajax U18 live on Ziggo Sport
