At the beginning of the 2024/25 winter semester, around 200 students began their studies at the Burghausen campus of the Rosenheim University of Technology. The number of new students remains at a similarly high level as in the previous year.

Burghausen – While around half of the newly enrolled students have enrolled in bachelor’s programs in chemical engineering, business administration, process automation technology and environmental technology, the other half are aiming for a master’s degree in hydrogen technology. Members of the university management and representatives of local politics welcomed the new students.
They were then introduced to their new phase of life. In addition to general information and organizational tips, there was also a campus tour detailed introductions to the individual study programs.
Dean Professor Dominik Pentlehner welcomed the new students with a Bavarian “Hello” and emphasized that “That this is not just a language, but an attitude to life.” He emphasized the advantages of a family location with open doors and the career prospects at ChemDelta Bavaria after completing his studies. Pentlehner also recommended that students not only acquire extensive specialist knowledge, but also take part in academic and social life on campus and in the city.
Relevance of the Burghausen location
First Mayor Florian Schneider emphasized the economic power of Burghausen as a location and the need for skilled workers for the future. He recommended that students complete their studies diligently and at the same time get to know and enjoy Burghausen with its charm and numerous leisure activities such as Wöhrsee and its rich culture.
The deputy district administrator Ingrid Heckner made it clear to the young people that the local politicians in the Altötting district in Burghausen were cooperating closely with the Free State so that the Burghausen campus could be created at all. She emphasized the need for skilled workers in the ChemDelta Bavaria region. She was also pleased about the diverse mix of students who came to Burghausen from both the region and all over the world.
“I love the city of Burghausen”
The semester speaker for the Hydrogen Technology course, Jahanvi Modi from the third semester, welcomed the new students. She promoted various student activities, for example being a member of the student association or participating in the campus choir, and concluded her speech with the words: “I love the city of Burghausen, it is very beautiful and quiet and I hope you like it here as well!”
“I am very happy, that we were able to convince so many young people to come to TH Rosenheim with our range of courses“, says university president Professor Heinrich Köster. He wished the freshmen a good start to their academic life and also a lot of fun during their time as students. He also showed the perspective that after a successful master’s degree, one can also pursue a doctorate at the Burghausen campus of the TH Rosenheim.
