Kansas City, Missouri.- Left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Royals in exchange for $3.75 million after his stint with the New York Yankees.
Chapman ended his time with the Yankees after a difficult season in which he only had 9 saves in 43 games as a reliever, numbers that left much to be desired for what was left off the team’s roster for the American League Division Series.
The 7-time All-Star reliever will leave big moments in the Bronx, going 24-14 with 153 saves and a 2.94 ERA over his seven seasons.
Royals will be the fourth ninth where Chapman plays in the Major Leagues, recalling his time with the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs and the aforementioned New York Yankees.
