Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are finally on the verge of finalizing their two-decade-long divorce. The former couple decided to legally end their 25-year family life in 2011, when the journalist realized the long-kept secret that even before the new millennium the Terminator star had an affair with their children’s nanny Mildred Baena, in as a result of which in 1997 the illegitimate heir of the actor Joseph Baena was born, whom he later recognized as his son.
Since then, however, their divorce has come to a serious standstill, thanks to which the two are still practically married, although they have not really felt like that for a long time.
The American press has repeatedly written that the case is being prosecuted because of the action legend, who refuses to part with his former lover, who unconditionally supported him during their cohabitation.
But as they say – over time everything changes. For example, the situation between them has recently changed. A day ago, it was announced that the 73-year-old Hollywood celebrity had filed a privacy statement in court, which in itself is a kind of indication that their legal relationship is coming to an end.
This fact was confirmed by a relative of theirs, who remained anonymous to the media, who revealed that Arnold and Maria were actually trying to officially leave behind this episode of their lives, which had spread for ten years.
“It’s actually a good sign,” the source said.
He added that no complications were expected in the case, mainly because to date all four of their children – Christopher, Patrick, Christina and Catherine – are adults. However, the two will have to share their property, totaling $ 400 million, because they did not sign a prenuptial agreement before going under the wreath in 1986. This means that their aforementioned fortune is likely to be divided equally between them and soon everyone will have exactly $ 200 million in their account.
Arnold is still in a relationship with his son Joe. After all, he is his only child to follow in his footsteps, at least in terms of training. In addition, the photos that the young man posted on his social media profiles clearly show that he is an almost exact copy of his father at a young age. In some shots, their resemblance is striking.
