Arnold Schwarzenegger detained at Munich Airport for luxury watch incident

The authorities at Munich Airport in Germany detained the famous American actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger (76 years old), for some time because he did not report a luxury watch that he was in possession of.

The British newspaper The Guardian said that the German authorities arrested the former governor of California in the customs area of the airport, on Wednesday afternoon, after he arrived in Germany from the United States, according to customs spokesman, Thomas Meister.

The German newspaper Bild reported that Schwarzenegger was able to continue his trip after paying thousands of euros in taxes, noting that this luxury watch was scheduled to be sold at a public auction at a fundraising dinner for the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative, at the Austrian ski resort of Kitzbühel, on Thursday.

The representative told the German newspaper that he tried to explain to customs officials that the watch would be auctioned for charity, but to no avail.

The American website TMZ quoted sources as saying that the famous actor was detained for three hours, and was not asked to fill out a form, but as soon as he arrived at customs, he was subjected to a thorough inspection.

The actor did not make any noise, and agreed to pay taxes in advance by the hour to pass through the airport. He tried to pay via credit card for an hour, but the withdrawal process was not completed, so customs officials took him to a bank so that he could withdraw money from the ATM, according to the American website. .
