Guatemala City, Nov. 10 (AGN).– The Guatemalan Army, through the General Felipe Cruz Parachute Brigade will teach the basic parachuting course for civilian personnel 2024, which will take place from November 15 to 29 of this year at the Parachuting School, based at kilometer 105 of the route to the Pacific, Puerto San José, Escuintla.
During training, aspiring skydivers will acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to make a successful jump; In addition, they will learn the correct way to equip themselves to jump, the behavior of the skydiver during the flight, before leaving the ship, exit from the plane in flight, opening the parachute and landing on the ground, as well as training in emergency procedures; among other skills. Likewise, the applicants will perform different practice jumps.
The requirements to be part of the Silk Brotherhood are: be a volunteer, Guatemalan and/or a foreigner legally established in Guatemala, be between the ages of 16 and 43, present a medical health certificate, undergo a physical fitness test, complete photocopy of the DPI or birth certificate. and written authorization from both parents for young people between 16 and 17 years old and pay the cost that includes: food, accommodation, materials, life insurance, among others.
